- Comments Off on Surf / Ski / Wakeboard – One Boat – 5 Minutes!
In this post we have a video that we shot doing something we have never seen done before. We are showing you the surf wave, wakeboard wake and ski wake behind the same boat – all in one take; completely unedited, untouched and shot on an iPhone7. This hopefully shows you the performance of the new Opti-V hull as well as the speed and versatility of the Ramfill ballast system.
When showcasing the “crossover” performance of other wake boats you typically see something like this:
-The ski wake with one driver, no passenger, and no ballast. Typically these are shots of the skier outside the wake and never showing the skier going through the wakes.
-A different set of shots of the wakeboard wake with 8 passengers, full ballast and a pro rider with camera angles designed to make it look bigger and cleaner.
-Another set of shots of the surf wave [...]

- Comments Off on The Centurion Fi Series
Since it was first rumored the most common questions we get on the new 2018 Centurion line all center around one thing – the Fi Series. This new boat series for 2018 is unlike anything that we have seen, either from Centurion or from any other inboard boat company. The following hopes to answer the most important and frequently asked questions about the Fi:
Why did Centurion build the Fi?
The Fi Series is designed to meet a number of customer desires that were not being met fully within the existing Centurion offering. The goal of the Fi series was to create a boat with a unique look, an unbeatable value proposition, and legendary performance.
What is the cost?
The value proposition of the Fi is incredible. Many of the options and features on the Fi are a-la-carte, allowing you to choose the options important to you while maintaining the top notch [...]

In the attached video I show you a very basic setup for the Centurion Ri237 Goofy side surf wave. Before we get comments on how your surf setup is so much better etc, please remember that this is a very basic example. The Ri237 can make a bunch of different wave shapes and sizes and this will help those of you new to the boat get a good starting point and show you the basics of how to change the wave. Just for reference I weigh approx 220lbs and ride a Phase 5 Danielo Diamond skim style board.I like the wave steep but not verticle. To make the wave steeper just do the opposite of what this video shows. We get a bunch of questions on this subject and I hope this helps to get you a starting point to develop the type of wave that works for you and those you ride with.

What Boat Has the Best Surf Wave?
This is one of the most common and interesting questions we get at our dealership. I am sure that, if you have been looking for a new boat, almost every sales person you have spoken with has told you, in so many words, that the boat they sell has the best surf wave.
Here at BoardCo we find the answer to, “What boat has the best surf wave?” to be way more involved than the expected answer, “We do.” I often respond to this question with a question, “Will you please define for me what the ‘best surf wave’ means to YOU?” Without this information I cannot even begin to answer the question. This usually makes people stop and think as well it should. What the best wave is very much a personal opinion. I know that the surf wave that I like is different depending if I [...]

You know those yellow stickers on the boats that say something like “16 Persons or 2350 lbs?” One of the most common questions we get is, “Is ballast factored into those numbers?” or, in other words, “How many people is the boat rated for when the ballast is FULL?” This is an important question – probably more so than you might expect.
First, let’s talk about those ratings and where they come from – bear with me, this will all come together here soon. Most people think that those ratings are established by the Coast Guard,; however once a boat goes over 19 feet, the Coast Guard no longer gives specific ratings for capacity. The capacity ratings are, in most cases, established by a body referred to as the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). The NMMA is a governing body that ensures that boats built by participating manufacturers are up to certain safety standards, one [...]
